Autumn Arrives — and So Do Our New Goats! 🍂🐐
by The Wild Trails Homestead
There’s a special kind of magic that rolls in with the Galician autumn — the soft gold of the chestnut trees, the cool mist that lingers over the fields in the morning, and the quiet hum of the farm settling into its slower rhythm. But this year, the season is bringing something extra special to The Wild Trails Homestead: the sound of tiny hooves and cheerful bleats echoing from the barnyard!
We’re beyond excited to welcome 2 little female kids this week to our little farm family. How lovely it is to see them exploring the yard each morning with little wobbly legs!
Our goats will be playing an important role here — helping to clear overgrown patches, enriching the soil, and, eventually, providing fresh milk for small-batch cheeses and soaps we plan to craft right here at the homestead. But more than anything, they bring a certain spirit of playfulness and warmth that fills our days with laughter.
As with everything on this land, we’re taking our time to get to know them — earning their trust, learning their quirks, and watching as they settle into the rhythm of life on the trails. There’s something grounding about these moments — the slow, simple work of caring for animals and the joy that comes from seeing them thrive.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing updates (and plenty of goat photos!) as they grow and make themselves at home. If you’re nearby in Galicia and want to visit, come say hello — just book a visit using our contact page! There is always a welcome to those that share our passion for farming small!
Here’s to autumn, new beginnings, and all the life this season brings. 🌾🐐
